3 day, 2 night trip to Waynesville, NC donated by Scott Smith

Log Home
The 3,200 square foot home is hound friendly and due to the possibility of winter weather will be available only from April 2018 to October 2018. This beautiful home is 15 minutes away from quaint Downtown Waynesville or, if you fancy a longer drive, it is 35 miles west of Asheville, NC.

The home was completed in December 2016 and is a traditional timber frame log home. It is fairly secluded so that even if the neighbors are in residence during the visit, you wont be able to see any other houses.

It is a 4 bedroom, l.5 bath on main, jack and jill bathroom on the lower level with a jetted tub between the two half-baths. There are 2 queen sleeper sofas in the loft. The lower level also features a king and queen bed. In the king bedroom, there is also a crib in case there are young children in the group. There are both indoor and outdoor fireplaces with a gas starter, eliminating the need to fuss with kindling. The deck outside includes a 20 x 20 covered porch and as 30 foot long porch facing the mountain view.

A short (1100 step) walk along the driveway will lead you to a gate that opens onto the Cataloochee Divide Trail. The Cataloochee Valley in the Smoky National Park is a short 10 minute drive away where you can fish in the streams, walk through the historic buildings that remain in the valley (church, schoolhouse, homes) and you can take advantage of the most popular attraction in the valley: watching the elk.
