![]() | HELP! We are now boarding 30 bassets at kennels and vet's offices. We need foster homes now! Our kennel bill for July was $2,700! Not only are our funds being drained paying for boarding, our bassets deserve to live in foster homes where they can be loved and have their temperaments evaluated. First-timers, please check out this info about fostering and complete the fostering application there. Returning fosters, please e-mail our Foster Coordinator at fostercoordinator@bhrg.org. Now is the time! Georgia's homeless bassets need you! |

| Murloc, BHRG's diabetic puppy, is now 6 months old, 35 pounds and thriving! Murloc was abandoned at a veterinary hospital after he was diagnosed with canine diabetes, a disease which has left him unable to process glucose without insulin shots. Puppies take a lot of time and commitment; double that for a diabetic pup. He needs a home with someone who is home a lot and is comfortable with diabetes. There are additional expenses for canine diabetes (insulin, test strips, syringes) and he will visit the veterinarian more often (3-4 times a year) than a typical non-diabetic dog. Murloc does not attend adoption events; anyone seriously interested in meeting him will need to make arrangements through BHRG. If you would like to help cover the cost of Murloc's care, please visit his fundraising page at http://www.firstgiving.com/murlocbhrg Please read Murloc's description to find out more about Murloc's wonderful personality and special needs. | ||

The Animals' Savior
Copyright Jim Willis 1999
I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal.
And I was angry.
"God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly.
"I have done something," He replied.
"I created You."
